Prescribed burn at Oakdale Nature Preserve Park

Fire is an important management practice in maintaining and restoring ecosystems by removing undesirable vegetation, accelerating nutrient cycling, controlling certain noxious weeds, and promoting regeneration of native vegetation including grasses, wildflowers and oak trees.

Pizzo and Associates, LTD, an ecological restoration contractor that specializes in prescribed burns, will be conducting the burn.

Please pay close attention to posted signs, smoky areas, and burn crews. Certain areas of the park may be restricted while the activities occur.
