Oakdale Nature Preserve Park

4433 S. Cranes Grove Rd.

Located just three miles south of Freeport on Baileyville Road, Oakdale Nature Preserve offers 133 acres of forests, streams and restored prairies. This wooded wonderland has many new amenities including a spacious picnic shelter, nature-based playground, trail enhancements and wayfinding signage. There is plenty to do at Oakdale year round! -Over four miles of trails wind through forests, restored tall grass prairie and two streams.

-Hike, bike, jog, cross-county ski, snowshoe, picnic, photograph, bird watch, animal track and identify plants.

-ADA acessible trail is 1/3-mile and starts at main grounds and winds through forest.

-Two picnic shelters available for rental. To reserve a shelter, call the Administration Center at 815.235.6114.

-Oakdale is open daily from dawn to 10:30 pm.
