After renovations to the carousel structure and the plaza surrounding it, the Krape Park Carousel opened for its 60^th season. On July 4, 1959 it was installed in Krape Park. Now, 60 years later it remains a community icon.

On July 4^th from noon-2:00 pm the Freeport Park District will be joined by co-sponsor FHN hosting the Carousel 60^th Celebration at Krape Park. In addition to 50 cents carousel rides there will be face painting, bouncy house and balloon creations. The first 100 children riders will receive a fun prize.
