Trout fishing season opens at 5 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019 and the enforced limit is five (5) trout per day per person.
Recently, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources released rainbow trout in 54 locations in Illinois, including Yellow Creek, as part of DNR’s Catchable Trout Program.
A fishing license and inland-trout stamp are required for anyone 16 years and older. Cost of the Illinois resident fishing license is $15 ($7.75 for seniors) plus $6.50 for the trout stamp. Licenses can be purchased locally or ordered online. Find out more at www.dnr.illinois.gov
