Trout fishing season opens at 5am on Saturday, April 5, 2025, and the enforced limit is five (5) trout per day per person.
Recently, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources released rainbow trout in 58 locations in Illinois, including Yellow Creek, as part of DNR’s Catchable Trout Program.
A fishing license and inland-trout stamp are required for anyone 16 years and older. Licenses can be purchased online. For more information, visit www.dnr.illinois.gov.
