Freeport Park District Announces Exciting New Adventure Challenger Obstacle Course at Read Park
Freeport, IL — The Freeport Park District is thrilled to announce the development of an all-new Adventure Challenger Warrior-Themed Obstacle Course coming Fall 2025 to Read Park!
This exciting addition will bring a dynamic and interactive play experience designed to encourage fun, fitness, and adventure.
Demolition of the existing playground will begin on September 2, 2025. During this time, the area will remain closed to the public until installation of the new course is complete.
The new obstacle course will feature a challenging warrior-style course, offering a unique space to climb, explore, and test skills in an active outdoor environment. This project is part of the Park District’s ongoing commitment to providing innovative recreational opportunities that inspire both play and wellness.
“We are excited to bring this adventurous new play space to Read Park,” said staff. “It’s designed to spark imagination, encourage physical activity, and create lasting memories in our community.”
