Freeport residents will be voting for 2 (two), six-year term, Board of Park Commissioner positions in the Consolidated Election on Tuesday, April 6, 2027.  To qualify as a candidate, you must be a registered voter, 18 years of age on or before April 6, 2027 and have lived within the Park District’s boundaries for at least one year prior to the election.

Candidate Petition Packets are now available from the Park District’s Administration Center located at 1122 S. Burchard Avenue.  These packets include a Statement of Candidacy, a Loyalty Oath, a State of Economic Interests, Code of Fair Campaign Practices, Petition for Nomination and Receipt for Campaign forms.  A minimum of 72 signatures by registered voters currently residing within the boundaries of the Park District are required.

Prospective candidates must file their completed petitions with the Park District Secretary between 8 am, Monday, November 16, 226 and 5 pm, Monday, November 23, 2026.
